Joe Budden charged with lewdness after accused of being naked in hallway by neighbour

Joe Budden has been charged with Lewdness after his neighbour accused him of being naked in the hallway.

According to TMZ, the American podcaster and rapper was charged on December 4 in Edgewater, NJ. The Edgewater Police Department shared a statement about the charges on December 30 after news about the incident surfaced online.

The statement shared that the authorities were dispatched to the apartment complex around 7:21am after Budden’s neighbour claimed that he was standing naked in front of their apartment door. The neighbour was alerted by his Ring camera of Budden’s presence at the door.

The camera also caught the moment in which Budden allegedly attempted to gain entrance into the apartment via the keypad various times. The court documents also revealed that the neighbour has two minor daughters who were present at the time of the incident.

Budden was charged with Lewdness – a disorderly persons offence – on a complaint summons, with the Edgewater Police Department Chief Of Police, Donald A. Martin, saying that the charges are “merely accusations and that the defendant is innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.”

His attorney, Nima Ameri, Esq, of Ameri Law Firm, shared a statement regarding the incident with the outlet that read: “Mr. Budden is saddened by Police Chief Martin’s press release. Mr. Budden has been waiting weeks for his cross complaints to be processed which include substantially more serious charges include possible felony charges against the persons behind these charges against him.”

She continued: “The allegations against Mr. Budden are a minor charge, not even resulting in an arrest. A charge Mr. Budden is looking forward to beating in court on the merits, not in the press.”

Budden is set to appear in court later this month. According to TMZ, the podcaster has had issues with his neighbours in the past, claiming that he was reprimanded for recording his podcast there.

He also addressed the incident in one of his recent podcast episodes, revealing that he allegedly sleepwalks. “I just slept walk somewhere that I shouldn’t have slept walk,” he told his co-hosts. “That’s what happened. And you know how I sleep … butt ass [naked]. … Good naked sleepwalking. I just did it again.”

In other news, Drake‘s father recently hit back at Budden, telling the broadcaster “to back the fuck off” after he went on a tirade over the rapper’s recent lawsuits against Universal Music Group (UMG).
