A certain Material Girl is still a Jimmy Kimmel Live! virgin, and the late-night host is holding out hope to have Madonna on his show for the very first time.
In a new interview with People, the comedian revealed which A-list celebrity he most wants to have as a guest on his show, despite never being able to nail her down in the past. “I wouldn’t say I’m desperate to get anybody, but we’ve never had Madonna on the show, and I’d love to have her on,” Kimmel told the publication.
“She had Guillermo [Rodriguez] onstage with her,” he added, referencing the time Madge invited his onscreen sidekick up onstage with her during an April 2024 concert in Mexico City. “Not me. Nothing for me.”
Though the “Vogue” icon hasn’t yet graced Kimmel’s Los Angeles studio, the perfect opportunity may very well be on the horizon given that Madonna will soon have new music to promote. The performer confirmed as much as recently as a couple of weeks ago, posting on Instagram, “My Valentine’s Day gift to all my fans is to let you know I’m putting my heart and soul into my new music.”
Madonna has also said that her next LP will serve as a follow-up to her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, which topped the Billboard 200. To execute it, she’s recruited O.G. Confessions producer Stuart Price to help her in the studio once again.
But while the Queen of Pop’s star power might make her a hard get for Kimmel’s program, she’d definitely be easier to book than the host’s other dream guest: the famously anonymous street artist Banksy.
As Banksy’s true identity has never been revealed, though, Kimmel noted that any of his past famous guests may have been the elusive icon. “Maybe Banksy was secretly Jason Alexander,” he joked to People, adding of his good friend Jason Bateman: “You know what? I’ve seen him draw. He’s not Banksy.”
