This one’s getting added to the birthday playlists! On Thursday, as she celebrated her own 56th birthday, Jennifer Lopez released her first solo single of the year, aptly titled “Birthday.”
“Name on top of the cake, it’s my birthday/I’ma make this famous ass shake, it’s my birthday,” she sings on the Rob Bisel-produced track’s chorus. “Throwin’ all this money in they face, it’s my birthday/Everyday is my birthday, bitch!”
Lopez has been performing “Birthday” on her Up All Night tour across Europe, which is scheduled to continue through mid-August. She celebrated the big day with a birthday party in Turkey, where she recreated the cake line from the song in real life.
“What a gift you all are!” she wrote on Instagram, sharing a mirror selfie and a carousel of her birthday celebrations. “Thank you so much for all your beautiful birthday wishes.”
During her show in Antalya, Turkey, her bestie Stevie Mackey led the sold-out crowd (and her band) in a sing-along to “Happy Birthday” after the clock struck midnight.
The pop star is set to continue her run of shows on Friday with a performance in Warsaw, before heading to Bucharest, Abu Dhabi, Kazakhstan, Istanbul, and Sardinia through mid-August.
