The single will appear on Jennie’s forthcoming album Ruby, out March 7
Jennie and Doechii have more than enough to brag about. The Blackpink singer is gearing up for the release of her debut solo album Ruby on March 7, and the Florida rapper is fresh off of her Best Rap Album win at the 2025 Grammy Awards. On their new collaboration “ExtraL,” the pair bask in their success, trading men and worries for funds and fast cars.
“Said, “Fuck your rules,” is the mood, damn right/Walk in a room and I set the vibe/Get a pic, it’ll last you long/Whole team, they gassin’ on us/You sit too far down on ’em charts to even ask me who’s in charge,” Jennie raps before sliding into a trap-influenced chorus.
Doechii makes a grand entrance in the accompanying Cole Bennett-directed video, singing her own name just as stacked gang vocals ask the question: “Do my ladies run this?” Doechii definitely does. “Gimme chi, gimme purr, gimme meow, gimme her, gimme funds/Gimme rights, gimme fight, gimme nerve, gimme cunt, let me serve,” she raps. “In the boardroom looking bored ’cause I’m not here for pleasin’ the men/Not here to reason with them/Misbehaved, Miss Push-My-Pen.”
“ExtraL” marks the third single from Ruby, following the Dominic Fike-assisted “Love Hangover” and the introductory record “Mantra.” The pop artist has a few more collaborations in store. Dua Lipa will join her on “Handlebars,” while “Damn Right” will feature Childish Gambino and Kali Uchis.
“I’m playing with a lot of different genres and elements — I’m rapping here, I’m singing here, I’m harmonizing here, I’m talking here … The overall sound was me making sure I like every single [song],” Jennie recently told Billboard. “I didn’t want to be forced into putting a song onto my album — that’s what I really fought for. And I was lucky to have all these people believe in me and support me so I could get to a level where we were like, ‘Wow. I think we’re ready.’”
