Jay-Z to Perform ‘Reasonable Doubt’ and ‘The Blueprint’ at Special Yankee Stadium Concerts

The shows will take place on July 10 and July 11, and little is known beyond his plans to play two of his most beloved albums in full to honor their 25th and 30th anniversaries

Jay-Z has announced two historic concerts at New York City’s Yankee Stadium in July where he’ll perform two of his most beloved albums in full. It begins on July 10 with a 30th anniversary celebration of Reasonable Doubt, and he’ll follow it up on July 11 by playing The Blueprint straight through for its 25th anniversary.

An Instagram post announcing the shows has no information about ticket sales, special guests, or the possibility of additional concerts. It merely says “Stay Tuned.”

The news comes just one day after the Roots announced that Jay-Z would be joining them at their annual Roots Picnic in Philadelphia on May 30. It’s unclear if the Roots Picnic set will spotlight a classic album, but a flyer promoting the gig spelled Jay-Z’s name with the umlaut used on the initial release of Reasonable Doubt in 1996. And last month, the rapper made his 1996 single “Dead Presidents” available on streaming platforms for the first time, kicking off the 30th anniversary celebration that will continue throughout the year.

Jay-Z hasn’t released a solo album since 2017’s 4:44, though he did team up with Beyonce for the 2018 collaborative LP Everything Is Loved, which was billed to “The Carters.” They toured together all across North America and Europe that year.

Since that time, however, Hova has kept a relatively low profile. He’s performed only a handful of times in recent years, often at special events like Tom Brady’s Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2024, and the the rollout of Pharrell Williams’s first collection as Creative Director at Louis Vuitton in 2023.

Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint anniversary shows would undoubtably pack stadiums all across North America, but it’s possible he wants to restrict the party to his hometown. Either way, it’s going to be a very good summer for Jay-Z fans. These are the shows they’ve been waiting to see for a long time.
