Jay-Z announces third Yankee Stadium show ‘Extra Innings’ due to “unprecedented demand”

Jay-Z has announced a third Yankee Stadium concert, ‘Jay-Z Extra Innings’, for July, and tickets are on sale now.

The rapper, who also weighed into the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake this week, is already playing two shows, ‘Jay-Z 30’ and ‘Jay-Z 25’, at the stadium. He announced the third due to “unprecedented demand” with the first two selling out in minutes. He’s set to extend the record for the most sold-out performances at Yankee Stadium with the shows.

Tickets went on sale at 1pm local time on Tuesday (March 24), and you can find any remaining tickets here.

His ‘30’ and ‘25’ shows celebrate his classic albums ‘Reasonable Doubt’ and ‘The Blueprint’ in a year in which they celebrate their respective anniversaries, on July 10 and 11. The Yankee Stadium shows were announced by his entertainment company Roc Nation last week.

A few weeks before he plays them, on Saturday May 30, he will also co-headline the Philadelphia festival Roots Picnic with The Roots.

He first shared the stage with the hip-hop band in 2001 for Jay-Z’s MTV Unplugged performance, and The Roots have since backed him on The Tonight Show. Meanwhile, The Roots’ Questlove has also served as Jay-Z’s musical director for concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall and New York’s Carnegie Hall.

Jay-Z’s 2026 tour dates are:

MAY
30 – Philadelphia, PA – The Roots Picnic

JULY
10 – New York City, NY – Yankee Stadium
11 – New York City, NY – Yankee Stadium
12 – New York City, NY – Yankee Stadium

Jay-Z’s most recent full headline performance was a 2019 show at New York’s Webster Hall. He was last on stage in July 2025, when he joined his wife, Beyoncé, during her final ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour date in Las Vegas.

Last month saw Jay-Z share the original version of the ‘Reasonable Doubt’ single ‘Dead Presidents’ on streaming platforms for the first time.

In October 2025, he spoke out in favour of the decision to get Bad Bunny for this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. He said he wasn’t convinced that there was real opposition to the Puerto Rican superstar taking to the stage.

Roc Nation joined forces with the NFL in 2019. Under this leadership, Jay-Z has helped put on memorable performances from Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd and Usher.

NME‘s review of ‘The Blueprint’ read: “‘The Blueprint’ has eloquently mapped out life’s foundations: laughter, tears, joy and pain, and has marked the Jigga as the complete rapper. Jay, of course, knows it: ‘I’m the Sinatra of my day, compadre,’ he chuckles on ‘Hola Hovita’. Nobody could disagree.”
