Jason Kelce and Stevie Nicks Have a Long Wishlist on Unlikely Collab ‘Maybe This Christmas’

A dash of holiday magic can make anything happen — it can even get multi-platinum-selling music legend Stevie Nicks in the recording studio with retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. Tis the season.

The pair teamed up for an unlikely duet of Ron Sexsmith’s “Maybe This Christmas,” the latest release from the Kelce-led Philly Specials album A Philly Special Christmas Party, out Nov. 22. On the single, Kelce and Nicks present an extensive Christmas wishlist. But they’re less interested in material things this year. Instead, the pair are asking for forgiveness, hope, and gratitude.

“Maybe this Christmas will mean something more/Maybe this year love will appear/Deeper than ever before,” they sing. “And maybe forgiveness will ask us to call/Someone we love, someone we’ve lost/For reasons we can’t quite recall/Maybe this Christmas.”

“There are no words to describe how incredible it is to have Stevie Nicks on this record,” executive producer Conner Barwin shared in a statement. “There is so much emotion in this song, and it was thrilling to be with them in the studio and watch her and Jason connect, be creative together, and witness this beautiful song become a reality.”

Charlie Hall, who produced and performed as a drummer on the record, added: “I was really hoping this song would resonate with Jason when we were kicking around ideas for this record, and it’s clear from the way he inhabits that beautiful melody that it did. And to have Stevie Nicks, one of the all-time masters of emotional transference (and an all-time hero of mine) come in and amplify all this is such a dream. I love this duet so much.”

Nicks already has her gift guide ready for the holidays. “I like to design blankets. Cashmere blankets are my favorite thing,” she recently told Rolling Stone. “That is what I buy for my friends if there’s a special occasion. I bought Travis Kelce a blanket.” The musician has a sweet spot for Travis, who has been dating Taylor Swift for the past year. She has a sweet spot for her, too. She hasn’t taken off the friendship bracelet Swift gave her since she got it last year.

“She is really smart, but she also went through a lot before. She’s in a good place right now, and I think she has a good man,” Nicks added. “I hope they fall deeper and deeper in love and ride off into the sunset. He does his thing and she does her thing, and then they come back together and get married and have babies if she wants that. I just want all of that for her.”
