Japan’s best-selling singer Ayumi Hamasaki responds to claims Elon Musk fathered her child

Japanese pop singer Ayumi Hamasaki has responded to claims that Elon Musk fathered her child, saying they’re not true.

Hamasaki, who is known for being Japan’s best-selling singer, shared her side of the story after another woman Musk had children with, MAGA author and influencer Ashley St. Clair, claimed in an interview with The New York Times that Musk fathered a child with the singer.

“I’ve been keeping an eye on this, and I guess it’s time for me to speak up. Elon Musk is not the father of [either of] my children,” Hamasaki wrote on her Instagram story, Tokyo Weekender reports.

She continued: “Setting aside my personal image, when my kids are old enough to start Googling things, I don’t want them to run into the rumors and think they’re true, so I’m firmly denying them.”

As the Wall Street Journal reports, text messages show Musk messaging St. Clair in 2023 about meeting with ‘Japanese officials’ about becoming a sperm donor for a high-profile Japanese woman. Although no one was named, speculation led fans to believe that Hamasaki may be the woman in question.

According to The Independent, Hamasaki has two sons from two different fathers, although their identities are kept secret. Meanwhile, Musk is the father of at least 14 children with four different women.

In other Elon Musk-related news, he was recently embroiled in a public feud with US President Donald Trump. This comes after Trump appointed Musk as the head of the newly introduced government sector Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Musk left his DOGE position on May 30, spending less than half a year in Trump’s administration. At the time, Trump and Musk shared that the Tesla boss’ role was always meant to be short-term, though their ongoing war has revealed that may not have been the case.

Their feud – which has slowly been simmering since Musk’s exit from Office – blew up at the start of June, after weeks of Elon condemning the President’s divisive One Big Beautiful Bill. The Bill includes extended tax cuts, added requirements for federal and medical benefits eligibility, and an increase to the national debt ceiling.

In the White House, Trump publicly said that he was “very disappointed with Elon”, claiming the former DOGE head “knew the inner workings” of the Big Beautiful Bill “better than anybody” and had “no problem with it” until he realised that the government was “going to cut the [electric vehicle] mandate”.

Musk responded: “False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!”
