The single marks the BTS member’s first return to music following his military discharge in South Korea
J-Hope is officially back. The BTS member and solo artist has officially released his much anticipated solo single “Sweet Dreams,” featuring Miguel. The dreamy track marks J-Hope’s first return to music following his discharge from mandatory military for South Korea’s army.
“Sweet Dreams” opens with Miguel’s signature falsetto delivering the refrain, “Sweet dreams come after hours” before J-Hope enters with his R&B-inflected hook: “I just wanna love ya like love ya like love ya like that.” Both Miguel and J-Hope sing over a soulful beat as a twinkling synth bring a whimsical energy to the song.
Along with the song, J-Hope shared a music video for “Sweet Dreams.” The video reflects the dream-like quality of the song, with a house floating up into the cerulean sky and following J-Hope as passersby on the street watch in awe and confusion. Miguel also makes a surprise appearance in the video.
“Sweet Dreams” was first announced as J-Hope’s next single at the end of February. Since then, the singer has been teasing his latest project with snippets from the music video and first look pictures from the video shoot.
Last March, J-Hope released Hope on the Street Vol. 1., the follow-up to his 2022 debut solo LP Jack in the Box. As he shares his new music, J-Hope is on tour supporting Hope on the Street, which he’ll conclude in Japan in June 2025.
