It has been reported that Ivanka Trump has attended Taylor Swift‘s recent ‘Eras’ show even though her father – Donald Trump – shared that he “hates” the singer.
According to People, Ivanka took her 13-year-old daughter Arabella and her friends to see the ‘Shake It Off’ singer perform live during her three-night run at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
The appearance of the daughter of the Republican presidential candidate comes roughly a month after Swift shared her endorsement for Kamala Harris in an Instagram post in which she wrote: “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
Shortly after her endorsement of Kamala Harris, Trump took to his X/Twitter account to share the brash update: “I hate Taylor Swift”. Prior to his harsh tweet, the former US president made a phone appearance on Fox & Friends (as per Variety) after his debate with Harris and the morning after Swift shared her endorsement. He addressed the pop star’s endorsement of Harris and shared: “I was not a Taylor Swift fan.”
He continued: “It was just a question of time. She couldn’t possibly endorse Biden… But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
Back in August, Trump addressed the controversy around the AI images of Taylor Swift endorsing his campaign, claiming, “I didn’t generate them”.
He previously shared fake AI-generated images on his Truth Social Account that suggested the singer had endorsed his 2024 presidential campaign. They included screenshots of women wearing shirts with the slogan ‘Swifties For Trump’, and an image of Swift made up like Uncle Sam, with the banner: “Taylor wants you to vote for Trump”.
Swift responded to the AI images in her endorsement of Harris and shared: “It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”
The former president had also previously released a t-shirt that was designed very similarly to Swift‘s ‘Eras’ tour merch.
In other news, Swift recently wrote a letter to Barstool Sports‘ David Portnoy, thanking him for “having my back when a lot of people didn’t”.
