The emotional first trailer for Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s forthcoming Back To The Beginning concert film has been released – watch it below.
The film captures the historic July 5, 2025 concert at Villa Park in Birmingham, which marked both Osbourne’s final solo performance and the last-ever show from Black Sabbath’s original line-up.
It will arrive in cinemas worldwide for a limited run from October 28, and tickets are on sale now via the official website here.
The newly released minute-long trailer opens with Tom Morello, who served as musical director for the show, reflecting on the sheer scale of the event.
“There’s never been a precedent for a show like this,” he says over footage from the day. “Millions of people around the world got to say, ‘Thank you Black Sabbath. Thank you Ozzy.’”
The clip intercuts footage of Osbourne and Sabbath onstage with shots capturing the scale and emotion of the Villa Park crowd, as well as glimpses behind the scenes.
Sharon Osbourne also reveals the determination it took for her husband to make the concert happen despite his health problems.
“He was told he probably wouldn’t make it through the show,” she says. “He said, ‘No, I’m doing it. Whatever happens, happens.’”
The trailer ends on a particularly poignant image of Osbourne smiling out at the audience before telling them: “God bless each and every one of you. I love you all.”
The concert itself brought Osbourne back to his hometown for his farewell, and reunited him with founding Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for their first performance together in more than 20 years.
Osbourne died aged 76 just 17 days later.
The film will include footage from every part of the all-day event, alongside personal reflections from those who performed and behind-the-scenes material featuring Morello and host Jason Momoa.
Among the acts represented are Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Gojira, Anthrax, Lamb Of God, Mastodon, Rival Sons and Halestorm.
A series of all-star performances from the day also make the cut, including Yungblud’s rendition of ‘Changes’ with Nuno Bettencourt, Frank Bello, Sleep Token drummer II and Adam Wakeman. The performance was subsequently released as a charity single with Osbourne’s approval.
The film will also include Ozzy solo performances of ‘I Don’t Know’, ‘Mr Crowley’, ‘Suicide Solution’ and ‘Crazy Train’, before Black Sabbath’s closing run through ‘War Pigs’, ‘N.I.B.’, ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Paranoid’. ‘Mama I’m Coming Home’ will close the film.
The concert ultimately raised around £11million for charity.
Following the show, Iommi said it had offered “closure for the band”, while Butler described the atmosphere as “pure love”.
“There’s never been anything like that that’s happened in the history of rock and roll,” Morello said of the event. “There’s never been a precedent for a show like this.”
Earlier this month, Iommi recalled his final conversation with Osbourne, which took place the night before the singer died.
“He said to me, ‘I really feel tired and really worn out’,” Iommi recalled. “I said, ‘Well, you’re bound to really, it’s been a lot of stress and pressure and stuff like that’. And the next thing, the next day, [he’s] gone.”
