Hear Jeff Goldblum’s ‘The Best Is Yet to Come’ With Scarlett Johansson

Actor’s new album Still Blooming will also feature Wicked costars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo

Jeff Goldblum is set to release his fourth album this spring — appropriately titled, Still Blooming — and will feature his Wicked costars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, as well Maiya Sykes and Scarlett Johansson.

Slated to roll out on April 25 via Decca Records (and on Verve Records in the U.S.), the album will also include members from the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. The LP’s first single features Johansson singing “The Best Is Yet to Come.” The original song was composed by Cy Coleman and written by Carolyn Leigh before Frank Sinatra famously recorded the track in 1964, which was accompanied by Count Basie and directed by Quincy Jones.

According to a press release, Still Blooming promises to offer a “tasteful curation of beloved jazz standards from both the Golden Era of Broadway and the Great American Songbook,” while Goldblum hosts “his talented friends, all veterans of the stage and screen, with collaborations that underscore the delicious link between jazz and pop culture.”

The track opens with vocals from Grande on “I Don’t Know Why (I Just Do),” while Erivo takes on the classic “We’ll Meet Again” and Maiya Sykes brings “Stella By Starlight” to “another level with her improvisational scat stylings,” per the release. Goldblum closes out the album with his own vocals on ‘Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye’.
