Harry Styles to drop new single ‘Aperture’ this week

Harry Styles has announced plans to drop new single ‘Aperture’ later this week.

The track, which is the first taster from his forthcoming album ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco Occasionally’, is set to land this Friday (January 23) at midnight GMT.

The former One Direction star’s fourth LP is set for release on March 6 and will contain 12 new songs. It is executive produced by Kid Harpoon, who worked on his last album 2022’s ‘Harry’s House’. Visit here to pre-order.

It comes after Styles started teasing his new record last week, through a series of posters with the phrase ‘We Belong Together’ popping up in cities across the globe. Then, he sent out a brief, lo-fi voice recording to fans on Whatsapp, which contained audio of him singing the line “We belong together”.

Rumours that Styles was working on a new record date back to August 2022, when the pop star suggested that he was already chipping away at ideas for a new solo album. Then, in 2024, he was spotted arriving at RAK Studios in London, leading many to believe he was underway with the recording process.

The new album will follow-on from his third studio album, ‘Harry’s House’, which featured singles ‘As It Was’, ‘Late Night Talking’, ‘Music For A Sushi Restaurant’ and more.

The record won the Album Of The Year awards at both the BRITs and the Grammys in 2023, and went on to make chart history across the globe.

NME awarded the album four stars at the time and described it as “his best yet”.

It added: “A few bleurgh-inducing moments aside, the musician’s third album feels like a magical thing – a record that you want to take up residence in until you know its every nook and cranny in minute detail. Home, for Styles, might be a state of mind, but with ‘Harry’s House’, he’s made an album that feels like the “little cottage” Mitchell once sang of; a place where you “can really find release”, relax and process the minutiae of your day.”

Following Styles hinting at new music in recent days, rumours have also emerged that the singer has struck a deal for another residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden. If these come to fruition, it will be his first shows there since playing 15 sold-out nights at the arena back in 2022 as part of his ‘Love On Tour’ dates.

Outlets including BBC News also reported that there are murmurs of Styles hosting a residency at the Co-op Live in Manchester later this year, as he is a major investor in the arena, which opened in May 2024.
