Harry Styles Declares ‘We Belong Together’ on New Single ‘Aperture’

As Rolling Stone previously and dutifully reported, it had been more than 1,300 days since Harry Styles released new music before he returned on Thursday evening with new single, “Aperture.”

The single delivers a shimmering first look at his long-awaited album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, out March 6. “It’s best you know what you don’t/Aperture lets the light in,” sings Styles before diving into the soaring chorus and declaring: “We belong together/It finally appears it’s only love.”

The singer previewed the song for fans who waited hours at New York’s Rough Trade record store on Wednesday, Jan. 21, to be among the first to hear the lead single from the musician’s upcoming LP. “As soon as I heard his voice, I was crying so much,” Lindsay, 24, told Rolling Stone at the listening party. “We’ve been waiting for years for his comeback.”

The following day, Styles announced a global residency tour of 50 shows across seven cities in support of his upcoming fourth studio album. The international run will launch May 16 in Amsterdam, where he is booked to perform six shows, followed by shows in London, São Paulo, Brazil, Mexico City, and a whopping 30 shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Styles will wrap the tour in Australia in Melbourne and Sydney.

Last week, the star revealed that Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, was pending. Produced by Kid Harpoon, the LP will span 12 new tracks and mark Styles’ fourth studio album and his first since 2022. Styles teased the announcement in his customary, enigmatic fashion, putting up billboards and posters from New York to São Paulo that quizzed onlookers, “Do you know who you are?” The signs were branded with “TPWK” at the bottom, an acronym corresponding to his single, “Treat People With Kindness” and merch from his last tour. Posters declaring “We Belong Together” also appeared in major cities worldwide.

The signs also correlated with a new website from the musician, which currently invites visitors to spin a wheel to fatefully land on either “Disco” or “Kiss” — upon clicking, fans are prompted to text a number, which leads to a sign-up page to add contact information.

Styles wrapped his Love on Tour — in support of the Grammy-winning albums 2019’s Fine Line and 2022’s Harry’s House — in 2023, and reflected on the 169-date run in an Instagram post. “It’s been the greatest experience of my entire life. I feel so incredibly full and happy. It’s all because of you,” he wrote at the time. “You have given me memories that will last a lifetime, more than I could have ever dreamed of. Thank you for your time, your energy, and your love.”
