Hans Zimmer to Serve as Composer on ‘Euphoria’ Season 3, Joining Labrinth

Two-time Oscar winner Hans Zimmer will head to the small screen as the composer revealed he’s working on the upcoming third season of Euphoria, joining Labrinth, who also worked on the series’ first two seasons.

“It’s an honor to join this incredible team of storytellers led by the visionary Sam Levinson,” Zimmer said in a statement. “Together, they have crafted such a bold and moving series that has meant so much to audiences. Labrinth’s music has shaped the show’s identity and I’m looking forward to contributing to the ongoing story and helping shape this new season through music.”

Levinson added in a statement that, while writing Season Three, he listened to Zimmer’s scores for True Romance and Interstellar. “So he’s been ingrained in the creative DNA since the beginning,” Levinson said. “I’m really proud of the work Labrinth and I have done in previous seasons and am excited for Hans to push us to new heights.”

Labrinth, who composed the scores for Euphoria’s first two seasons and penned the songs “All for Us” and “I’m Tired” alongside Zendaya, added of the collaboration, “Another chapter in the Euphoria universe! So great to join Hans, one of my heroes in film score, and bring some new magic to this new season.”

Zimmer previously won Best Original Score Academy Awards for his scores for The Lion King and Dune, in addition to 10 more nominations. The composer has frequently worked with directors like Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott, and Denis Villeneuve, including on the upcoming Dune: Part Three.

On the small screen, Zimmer has largely worked on documentaries, although his music has featured in miniseries such as The Pacific, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, and the theme song for The Crown. While Emmy-nominated, Zimmer has never won that award, leaving him an E and T short of the prestigious EGOT; in addition to the two Oscars, Zimmer has won five Grammys. (Zimmer was nominated for Best Original Score at the 1998 Tony Awards for The Lion King, but did not win.)

Euphoria, in production now, is scheduled to return to HBO in 2026; it last aired in February 2022, and a lot has changed on the series since then.
