In late August 2015, Halsey released her celebrated debut album ‘Badlands’. Besides its provocative pop sound, fans were drawn to the album through Halsey’s narrative and lore-led videos.

On August 29 this year, she’ll be releasing the 10th anniversary edition of her album. Additionally Halsey has revealed over the weekend that she’ll be releasing a double-feature video for two fan favourites: ‘Drive’ and ‘Gasoline’.

“We never left,” a teaser for the double-feature reads. The double-feature will pick up 10 years after the conclusion of her original string of ‘Badlands’ videos, and sees her reunite with actor Tyler Posey, who co-starred in the 2015 ‘Colors’ video.

Watch the teaser for the ‘Drive’ and ‘Gasoline’ double-feature, simply referred to as ‘Badlands 2025’ below.

The last video in the original ‘Badlands’ run was ‘New Americana’, which teased ‘Drive’ as its next chapter. However, a ‘Drive’ video never came to fruition, and has been a constant talking point among fans for a decade.

A release date for the double-feature has yet to be announced.

The 10th anniversary version of ‘Badlands’ – dubbed ‘Badlands (Decade Edition Anthology)’ features the original album as well as a collection of orchestral, demo and stripped versions of several songs. You can pre-order the album here.

Since the release of ‘Badlands’, Halsey has released four other albums – the most recent being 2024’s ‘The Great Impersonator’. In a five-star review of Halsey’s ‘The Great Impersonator’, NME wrote: “Looking back through her recent catalogue, ‘Manic’ is more stylistically diverse, ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’ more musically ambitious, but ‘The Great Impersonator’ is Halsey’s most honest album – that is if you choose to believe her.”

The project landed at Number 39 on NME‘s 50 best albums of 2024 list, with the single ‘Lonely Is The Muse’ earning a place in our 50 best songs of the year run-down.
