Gracie Abrams has canceled her Feb. 28 show at Forest National in Brussels after being medically advised not to perform. In a handwritten statement to her fans, the singer-songwriter revealed: “My body has been fighting off something gnarly for the past week, and despite doing everything in my power to keep it contained, it has gotten to a point where all medical advice I’ve received says I cannot perform and need to rest.”
Abrams performed three shows on the Secret of Us Deluxe tour this week, including stops in Zürich, Milan, and Paris. The live show supporting her album of the same name resumed on Feb. 8 and is scheduled to extend through Aug. 27 across Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America.
“First thing I have to say is that I love you with my whole heart, and I have been so looking forward to being together in your beautiful city,” Abrams said. “At this point in time I can’t give you the show you deserve and that breaks my heart, especially knowing all the travel and the planning and the care that you put into attending our show.”
Abrams’ next scheduled show is set for March 3 in Nottingham. “We are working to figure this out and will follow up with further information as quickly as possible,” she added of the Brussels show. “Our every intention is to make this right and I promise we’ll be in touch as soon as we have concrete details.”
In the meantime, Abrams’ opening act Dora Jar is inviting fans to join her for an impromptu meet up at L’Archidu, a cocktail lounge in Brussels. “For those of u who still want to get together and hear us play some songs tonight,” the singer said on Instagram.
“I love your heart and your brain and I will miss you all so much tonight,” Abrams wrote on, reposting the open invitation.
