GOT7’s Youngjae reveals mandatory military enlistment date

GOT7‘s Youngjae has been locked in for his mandatory South Korean military service – find out his enlistment date below.

Today, Andbut Company took to social media to announce that Youngjae is nearing his mandatory military service. The full statement reads: “Hello, this is Andbut Company. We would like to inform you of our artist Youngjae’s upcoming enlistment. Youngjae will begin fulfilling his mandatory military duty as a social service worker starting November 27.”

“He has chosen not to make a separate public statement, and he wishes to quietly and sincerely carry out his duty. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all fans for your unwavering love and support. Please continue to send your warm encouragement to Youngjae throughout his service period. Thank you.”

Youngjae will serve his mandatory military service for a period of 21 months, instead of the standard 18. He is expected to be discharged from service sometime in August 2027.

Yugyeom, the youngest member of GOT7 enlisted in late September this year and is expected to complete his service by March 2027 – he is serving in the army band. Older members Park Jinyoung and JAY B completed their services in November 2024 – Jinyoung was the only member of the boyband to serve as an active duty soldier, while JAY B served as a public service worked.

Members Mark, Jackson and BamBam are exempt from serving in the military due to their foreign nationalities.
