Glastonbury 2025: Charli XCX and Doechii to clash as first stage details revealed

Charli XCX and Doechii are due to clash at Glastonbury, as the first stage details have been revealed.

In a special episode of Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw‘s podcast Sidetracked, exclusive details of some of the stage breakdowns were shared with listeners.

Charli XCX will be headlining the Other Stage on the Saturday night, which is at the same time as when Doechii is headlining the West Holts Stage. “That’s quite a big clash there,” Grimshaw said on the show.

“That’s good, though,” Mac replied. “Otherwise, everyone under the age of 35 would be at the Other Stage trying to see Charli, so it’s good to spread it out…that’s really thought through in terms of crowding and being able to split everyone up.”

In the podcast, Grimshaw said his theory as to why Charli XCX is billed to headline the Other Stage rather than be on an earlier slot on the Pyramid Stage is to avoid “Brat by day”, as the sun won’t set until after 9pm. “We need the strobe lighting,” he joked.

Elsewhere in the episode, the pair confirmed that RAYE would be performing on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night in the slot behind headliner Neil Young. Elsewhere, Loyle Carner will headline the Other Stage on Friday night, with The Prodigy headlining it on Saturday.

Annie Mac confirmed she will also play at Glastonbury, saying: “And I won’t leave site this year. I haven’t stupidly put a gig in in the middle of the weekend.”

The pair also discussed the other acts who are billed, including Ezra Collective, Jorja Smith, and Beth Gibbons.

Both Charli XCX and Doechii have had highly successful years, with the two stars getting wins at the Grammy Awards 2025. Charli XCX won Best Dance Pop Recording category for ‘Von Dutch’ and Best Dance/Electronic Album for ‘Brat’, giving her a total of three Grammy Awards. Meanwhile, Doechii won the Best Rap Album award for her mixtape ‘Alligator Bites Never Heal’.

‘Brat’ was listed as number one on NME‘s 50 Best Albums of 2024 list. “‘Brat’ as cultural sensation was a sight to behold, to be sure,” the descriptions reads. “But ‘Brat’ as an album – the record at the core of the rollout, the music beneath the marketing – is quite simply exceptional. As a songwriter and lyricist, Charli has spent much of her career oscillating between the poles of unfuckwithable attitude and naked vulnerability.”

Doechii’s ‘Nissan Altima’ was listed as one of NME‘s 50 Best Songs of 2024. In a four-star review of ‘Aligator Bites Never Heal‘, NME shared: “Doechii gets into the nitty gritty on this release, but – by the end – she finds solace and strength, making the mixtape feel more like a sonic diary of her emotional journey.”

Glastonbury 2025 will take place on the final weekend of June, running from Wednesday June 25 to Sunday June 29 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset. The first line-up poster arrived yesterday (March 6), with The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo also headlining.

Other acts on the bill include Biffy Clyro, Wolf Alice, Noah Kahan, The Maccabees, Alanis Morissette, Lucy Dacus, Father John Misty, St. Vincent,  Deftones, Scissor Sisters, The Libertines and Wet Leg.

Emily Eavis recently confirmed a fallow year for the event at Worthy Farm set to take place in 2026 to “give the land a rest”. That means, there will be a one-year break before Glastonbury returns in 2027.
