(G)I-DLE tease new mini-album, titled ‘I Sway’, to be released next month

K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE have announced the upcoming release of their seventh mini-album ‘I Sway’, due out in July.

(G)I-DLE announced their comeback through their official social media channels today (June 10) at midnight KST. The post included the title of their upcoming project, its format and its release date of 8 July at 6pm KST.

The announcement also included a first look at the comeback’s concept, with a graphic of a multi-coloured cassette player with a tape enclosed inside. The player also has a brand-new (G)I-DLE logo embedded on the casing.

Other details include the album’s title track, tracklist and more have yet to be revealed by the girl group. More information is expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

‘I Sway’ will mark (G)I-DLE’s second music release of 2024, following their second full-length album ‘[2]’ in January. That record featured the singles ‘Wife’ and ‘Super Lady’. The group also released a music video for album cut ‘Revenge’, while another album cut ‘Fate’ emerged as a sleeper hit in South Korea.

In April, (G)I-DLE singer Yuqi released her new solo mini-album ‘YUQ1’. The record notably features several collaborations, including rapper pH-1 on ‘Drink It Up’, (G)I-DLE bandmate Minnie on ‘Everytime’ and Chinese musician Lexie Liu on ‘On Clap’.

In other K-pop news, girl group Red Velvet have announced a new mini-album titled ‘Cosmic’ to be released later this month. It comes shortly after member Joy voiced her unhappiness over the lack of updates from their label SM Entertainment over new music from the group.
