Fontaines D.C., The Hayley Williams Show Headline 2027 Laneway Festival

Fontaines D.C. and The Hayley Williams Show top the bill for the 2027 Laneway Festival, which will visit four cities across Australia and New Zealand during the southern summer.

Now entering its 22^nd edition, the cooler-than-dry-ice bill also includes Slayyyter, ADÉLA, Kim Petras, MUNA, Ninajirachi and Rico Nasty.

As previously reported, the Laneway shows in Perth and Adelaide have been scaled back and will go ahead as sideshows. Fontaines D.C., as headliner, and Jane Remover will play both shows. Hyper-pop artist Tiffany Day will perform at the Perth leg, with “further updates coming soon,” according to reps from Handsome Tours and Laneway Presents.

Founded in 2005 by Danny Rogers and Jerome Borazio as St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, a one-day festival in Melbourne, Laneway has the enviable reputation as the place where punters can see the next hot act before everyone else.

Laneway ticketholders can expect to be exposed to a cool, carefully curated lineup of alternative, hip hop, punk, and indie, and just about genre that could blow your hair back. The likes of Billie Eilish, Florence + the Machine, Charli xcx, Clairo, Mitski, Tame Impala and Fred Again all played early career sets at Laneway. 

It’s still a big day out, but one that clocks up serious airmiles. For several years, the fest expanded into APAC through a Singapore leg. And in a first for an Australian festival brand, Laneway expanded into the United States in 2013 with show at the Meadow Brook Music Festival in suburban Detroit (the U.S. event however, has yet to return for a second outing). 

The most recent run shifted over 200,000 tickets and was headlined by Chappell Roan, and featured performances by BENEE, Wolf Alice, Role Model, Wet Leg and many more.
