Fitz and the Tantrums Preview New Album ‘Man on the Moon’ With Funky Title Track

Fitz and the Tantrums take fans on a funky lunar voyage with their new single “Man on the Moon,” the title track from the band’s upcoming album.

Man on the Moon, out July 25 via Atlantic Records, is heralded by the band as their most daring album yet, with Fitz and the Tantrums exploring new territory across 14 songs on their sixth studio album and first since 2022’s Let Yourself Free.

“I decided I was simply going to write for my heart and for my soul and nobody else,” singer frontman  “Fitz” Fitzpatrick said in a statement. “At this point in our career, myself and the band feel we have complete creative license. Because, c’mon, nobody knows what the rules are anymore. So I’m not going to chase some vapor in the wind. I’m going to just do what I want.”

Co-lead singer Noelle Scaggs added, “We’ve never wanted to be stuck in a box. We refused to do that. With this project, we’re daring to be different.”

Starting tomorrow, Fitz and the Tantrums will take their new album on the road with their Man on the Moon Tour, kicking off May 8 in Wilmington, North Carolina. After a handful of May shows, the 31-date trek will kick off July 24 — a day before the album’s release — in San Diego, California, and run through an ACL Live show in Austin on August 31.
