Fans react as Glastonbury 2027 general tickets sell out in 42 minutes

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2027 have sold out in just 42 minutes, with fans sharing their joy and frustration of trying to secure a spot at Worthy Farm.

Tickets went on sale at 9am today (Sunday October 4), with huge numbers of hopeful festivalgoers joining the virtual queue for the first Glastonbury since 2025.

At 9:42am, See Tickets confirmed that the entire allocation had been snapped up.

“Tickets for @Glastonbury Festival 2027 are now SOLD OUT,” it wrote. “Confirmation emails are going out now. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets this morning and sorry to those who missed out.”

The sale followed coach and ticket packages selling out in under 30 minutes on Thursday (October 1).

Glastonbury 2027 will be the festival’s first edition following its fallow year in 2026, and will run at Worthy Farm from Wednesday June 23 to Sunday June 27.

Organisers announced last month that general admission tickets would cost £408 each, including a £5 booking fee – taking the price above £400 for the first time. Buyers today were required to pay a £100 deposit, with the remaining £308 due between April 1 and 7 next year.

This morning saw the return of the tweaked ticketing process that debuted during Thursday’s coach sale. Fans once again had to enter their registration details before accessing the virtual queue, with the same registration tied to a single queue position rather than allowing multiple attempts across different devices.

Once inside, fans were shown a row of blocks that gradually turned green as they moved closer to the front, rather than being given a numerical position in the queue.

Unsurprisingly, the sight of stubbornly static green bars quickly began to get on people’s nerves.

Over on the Glastonbury subreddit, one hopeful festivalgoer summed up the experience simply as “2 bars of hell”, while another joked: “Well, maybe the real Glastonbury tickets were the 2 bars we met along the way.”

Others reported technical problems, including being given “access restricted” messages despite saying they were not using VPNs or attempting to circumvent the queue.

At 9:26am – 26 minutes after the sale began – the queue page offered the first indication of how quickly tickets were disappearing.

“Over half the available tickets have now been sold, the queue for remaining tickets is moving steadily,” the message read.

By that point, however, some lucky fans had already made it through and were celebrating their successful purchases.

One Reddit user said they had completed their purchase by just 9:04am, writing: “I don’t think I’ve ever had a lucky thing in my life happen to me until right now.”

For comparison, general tickets for Glastonbury 2025 sold out in 35 minutes, after coach packages were snapped up in 32 minutes. The general admission resale the following spring lasted just 19 minutes.

Fans who missed out today will have another opportunity when unwanted tickets and those for which the remaining balance has not been paid are offered in the spring 2027 resale.

No acts have yet been officially announced for Glastonbury 2027, although organiser Emily Eavis confirmed in August that all three Pyramid Stage headliners have already been booked.

Early bookmakers’ favourites have included Sam Fender, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Little Simz, while Harry Styles, Radiohead, Fontaines D.C., Muse and The Rolling Stones have also been the subject of speculation.

Styles’ recently announced 2027 tour dates leave him free over Glastonbury weekend, while Fontaines D.C. currently have the Friday (June 25) open ahead of their two huge shows at Slane Castle.

Speculation around The Rolling Stones has also continued. Ronnie Wood told NME this week that he would play Glastonbury 2027 “in the drop of a hat”, although he admitted he did not know whether his bandmates felt the same way.

Robbie Williams, meanwhile, has announced outdoor shows for the week immediately after Glastonbury, fuelling suggestions that he could be in line for the Sunday Legends Slot.

Two major names have effectively been ruled out. Eavis dismissed speculation around Madonna, saying: “No, it’s definitely not Madonna”, while she later responded to calls for Oasis to headline with: “Sorry Jimmy, not this time!”

The last Glastonbury, in 2025, was headlined by The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, with other major performances coming from Charli XCX, Wolf Alice, Rod Stewart, Doechii, RAYE, Kneecap and Pulp.
