Pepe Aguilar has topped Billboard’s new music Latin poll published on Aug. 21 with his new live album Los Aguilar Sinfónico desde El Hollywood Bowl.
Billboard readers voted for the 25-track set as their favorite music release of the week after the New Music Latin poll and playlist was published; the album earned nearly 50 percent of the vote.

The new set was recorded during the two performances given by Aguilar and his children Leonardo and Ángela Aguilar at the iconic Hollywood Bowl venue in August, where they fused the mariachi hits such as “Por Mujeres Como Tú,” “Directo Al Corazón,” and “La Llorona,” with the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra.
“No Mexican music artist has performed at the Hollywood Bowl in 23 years — since I performed there in 2002,” the Mexican artist said to Billboard Español. “I was accompanied by a symphony orchestra back then, too, though this time was different because I returned with my children, and that is deeply satisfying. But it is even more gratifying to do so with Mexican music — mariachi music — at a venue that has hosted everyone from Frank Sinatra and the Rolling Stones to Juan Gabriel.”
Pepe will perform another symphonic and mariachi show, without his children, on Aug. 28 and 29 at the Jones Hall in Houston.
Another fan favorite in this week’s New Music Latin poll — following Aguilar’s winning album — is Grupo Bryndis’ heartfelt medley “Ayer y Hoy II,” which garnered more than 38 percent of the vote. See the full poll results below.
