Nicki Minaj has been sued by a fan for $5million (£3.7million) for financial and emotional damage.
TMZ reports that Tameer Peak has brought a lawsuit against the rapper to the L.A. Superior Court, saying that Minaj “mistreated” him multiple times since 2017.
Peak, who claims he has been a loyal fan of Minaj for the past 15 years, accused her of singling him out in 2017 as an apparent paid mole sent to sabotage her. Minaj made this claim about other fans as well, but Peak went on to allege Minaj also “publicly ridiculed him, inviting him to her hotel on one occasion to film and embarrass him in front of 100,000 viewers on Instagram Live.”
The lawsuit also claims Minaj “mistreated” Peak at a Super Bowl weekend event in 2020 due to her husband Kenneth Petty hitting him. Peak also claims Nicki has referenced the event in a DM she sent to him later. He went on to allege he received messages from others which stated Nicki wanted him “stop saying dumb s–t” in 2024, which he says hurt his reputation with her fans.
He has also accused the rapper of targeting him on X/Twitter during Stationhead livestreams, during which Minaj apparently said he was “one sandwich short of a picnic” and receiving a check from the government. Peak interpreted these statements to mean he was mentally unstable and that Minaj implied he was on welfare. Minaj also allegedly called Peak a “stalker” who impersonated members of her team.
As such, Peak is suing the rapper for $5million in damages for reputational harm, along with emotional distress and financial loss. In response, Minaj’s attorney Judd Burstein wrote to TMZ: “Mr. Peak has been harassing Nicki on social media for years on end to no avail.”
“He has now graduated to seeking to shake her down financially with manifestly false allegations and legally frivolous claims. He will regret having gone down this disreputable road when he is forced to pay her legal fees as required by California law.”
In other news, Nicki Minaj has called out Deb Antney for trying to end feud with Lil Kim behind her back.
