Everything We Know About Ariana Grande’s ‘Petal’ (So Far)

Ariana Grande is sowing the seeds of a new era.

The pop star announced her highly anticipated eighth studio album Petal via Instagram on Tuesday (April 28). After previously stating that she would need “an extra brain and four more arms” to release a new album this summer, Grande began hinting at the possibility of doing just that last month. One such hint came in the form of a flower emoji in her Instagram bio; others came through in photos of her in a recording studio.

It’s no wonder Grande said she would need a clone of herself to drop a new album soon: Her schedule has been absolutely stacked lately. In November, the star closed out the Wicked saga with the release of Wicked: For Good. Earlier this month, Universal Pictures dropped the trailer for Grande’s next big-screen release, Focker-in-Law, with part 4 of the Meet the Parents films set to be released this Thanksgiving. In 2027, she’ll make her West End debut in a revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George. All the while, her makeup venture, R.E.M. Beauty, has been releasing new products and photo shoots starring the singer.

Petal is Grande’s follow-up to her 2024 Billboard 200-topping album Eternal Sunshine. In addition to topping the albums chart, Eternal Sunshine also spawned two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits “Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).” Petal will come out in the middle of Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour, which begins June 8 in Oakland, California, and wraps Sept. 1 in London.

From the release date to what the album is about, see everything we know about Petal so far below.
