EsDeeKid hits out at The Chainsmokers’ unauthorised remix of ‘4 Raws’

EsDeeKid has called out The Chainsmokers for releasing an unauthorised remix of ‘4 Raws’.

The anonymous rapper voiced his disapproval in a post on X, which read: “that chainsmokers remix is getting NUKED mate wow please. don’t remix my shit and think it’s cool to post to all DSPs.”

True to his word, the remix has been removed from YouTube and SoundCloud, but clips are still circulating online.

This isn’t the first time The Chainsmokers have released an unauthorised remix. They have released other unauthorised remixes in recent months, including reworkings of Charli XCX’s ‘party 4 u,’ Chappell Roan’s ‘Pink Pony Club’, Gracie Abrams’ ‘That’s So True’ and Sombr‘s ‘Back To Friends’. In fact, the only remix they have released recently that was authorised was their version of Taylor Swift‘s ‘The Fate Of Ophelia’.

The Chainsmokers have been approached for comment.

Meanwhile, after fans became convinced that EsDeeKid was actually Timothée Chalamet, the two put rumours to bed with their own remix of ‘4 Raws’. In a clip shared to social media, Chalamet raps: “Got model bitches in Peckham / I’m riding rentals in Wrexham.”

Seemingly referencing girlfriend Kylie Jenner, he goes on to rap: “It’s Timothée Chalamet chilling/ Trying to stack 100 million /Girl got a billion.”

EsDeeKid’s album ‘Rebel’ made it into NME‘s list of the 50 best albums of 2025, with writer Kyann-Sian Williams writing: “Punkish bravado and glossy, high-voltage shine: with his debut mixtape ‘Rebel’, EsDeeKid took the crown as the UK underground’s true chaos conductor. Over crunchy bass and breath-halting 808s, his gruff Scouse delivery becomes an act of defiant grit, transforming the record into a cultish riot that refuses to be tamed.”

EsDeeKid will be heading out on a North American and Australian tour, and he will also be joining IDLES, Amyl & The Sniffers, JPEGMAFIA, and more in opening for Deftones at London’s Outbreak Fest 2026.
