Elyanna Plots ‘Woledto’ World Tour

Palestinian-Chilean artist Elyanna has announced a Woledto world tour in support of her debut album of the same name, Tuesday. Singer-songwriter Elyanna, known for her experimental Arab-pop sound, will kick off the tour on Oct. 7, with stops in Houston, Atlanta, Brooklyn, and Toronto. After wrapping the North American leg in San Diego on Nov. 20, Elyanna will head to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Stockholm, and London.

Elyanna — who weaves Arabic, Latin, and Western sounds into her music — draws inspiration from Adele, Etta James, Dalida, Nancy Ajram, and the rhythms of cumbia, Arabic folk music, and belly dancing.

Elyanna showcases her cultural roots through song, exploring themes of immigrant experiences and resilience. She also expresses it through her wardrobe, from sporting a tatreez shawl or a headpiece adorned with coins. Before walking offstage after her 2023 Coachella performance, Elyanna held up a Palestinian keffiyeh, a reflection of her identity and solidarity with her people. During her Governors Ball performance in June, audience members waved Palestinian flags and keffiyehs while she performed in front of the graphic, “All Eyes on Rafah.” The phrase refers to the displaced Palestinians who are being targeted in an ongoing Israeli invasion. After performing her entire Coachella set in Arabic, Elyanna told Rolling Stone, “I am creating my own box. I want to introduce a new culture, sound, and language. I mean, that’s the whole point.”
