Elon Musk hits out at Jennifer Lopez: “How many people did she warn about Diddy?”

Elon Musk has hit out at Jennifer Lopez’s credibility following her speech at Democratic candidate Kamala Harris’ rally in Las Vegas.

While endorsing Harris and appearing as a speaker at the Democratic candidate’s rally in Las Vegas on October 31, the Latin singer warned against voting for Donald Trump following comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s insults at the Republican candidate’s rally in New York in which he referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage”, among other derogatory remarks about the Latin community, Black people, Jewish people and Palestinians.

“We should be emotional. We should be upset. We should be scared and outraged. We should – our pain matters. We matter. You matter. Your voice and your vote matters,” she said.

Now, Musk has hit back at the ‘Love Don’t Cost A Thing’ singer. While appearing as a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the tech billionaire brought up Lopez’s ex-partner – Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and suggested that her credibility wasn’t sound due to her never speaking up about the music mogul’s alleged behaviour.

“J.Lo was like his ex-girlfriend and it’s like now deciding she’s like warning people against Trump,” Musk said. “How many people did she warn against Diddy, right? Oh zero, okay. Maybe we shouldn’t trust her opinion.”

He continued: “People in the music entertainment industry had to know that Diddy was like abusing, you know, kids basically and yet they still fed him kids. Like, where’s the accountability? They had to know.”

NME has reached out to Lopez’s representatives for comment.

Lopez and Diddy were in a relationship from 1999 until 2001. Combs was arrested in New York in September and subsequently charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transporting for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. He was later denied bail after offering a $50million (£38.4m) bond and was reportedly placed on suicide watch as he awaits trial. The artist has since appealed against the bail denial. His trial date is scheduled for May 5, 2025.

He remains in federal custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York City. Combs is next expected to appear in court on December 18. According to Rolling Stone, he could face up to 15 years in prison if found guilty.

At the time of writing, Lopez has yet to publicly address his arrest.

In other news, figures from the entertainment world have been sharing their reactions to Donald Trump‘s victory in the 2024 US presidential election.

Elsewhere, Grimes has appeared to address Musk by agreeing with Olivia Rodrigo‘s recent comments about men who want to go into space.

In a recent Q&A to promote her new Netflix concert film, Guts World Tour, Rodrigo revealed that her “biggest red flag” when it comes to her dating life is if a guy says he wants to go to space.

Grimes – who is Musk’s ex-partner – shared her thoughts on the singer’s comments by replying to a post on X/Twitter. “It’s true,” she wrote. “Only women should be going to space.”
