Ed Sheeran brings his pop up British pub to Coachella 2025

Ed Sheeran has brought his pop-up pub ‘The Old Phone’ to the second weekend of Coachella 2025.

The singer-songwriter played a special hits-packed afternoon set on the Mojave Stage on Saturday (April 19), having been drafted in as a late announcement for the festival earlier this month.

As part of his appearance at the Empire Polo Club, Sheeran decided to bring his pop-up pub ‘The Old Phone’ with him to the festival site.

In a post on his Instagram, he did a tour of the extensive installation, which you enter through a trap door at the back of a phone box. Among traditional British pub decor, it also includes old Sheeran memorabilia on the walls and scarves for his beloved Ipswich Town FC. Watch here:

The pub first appeared earlier this month in his hometown namesake of Ipswich, Massachusetts, where he played a few songs, including his new single ‘Azizam’ and Chappell Roan’s ‘Pink Pony Club’.

‘Azizam’ also made an appearance during his Coachella set, alongside big hitters such as ‘Shape Of You’, ‘Shivers’ and ‘Thinking Out Loud’.

Ed Sheeran played:

‘Castle On The Hill’
‘Shivers’
‘The A Team’
‘Don’t / No Diggity’
‘Thinking Out Loud’
‘Photograph’
‘Perfect’
‘Bloodstream’
‘Azizam’
‘Shape Of You’
‘Bad Habits’

Sheeran has released the video for ‘Azizam’ – which is named after a Persian term of endearment that translates to “my dear” or “my beloved” – and it sees the singer joining in with a lively Persian wedding.

It is the first release from his upcoming album ‘Play’, which has yet to be given an official release date. He also debuted a new song ‘Old Phone’ – after which the pub has been named – during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last month.

Sheeran has also confirmed that a new track called ‘Sapphire’ will be released in the coming months, and he revealed that he plans to share new music every two or three weeks.

The singer-songwriter is due to play a run of European shows from May to September 2025 before finishing up the year with performances in Bhutan, India, Qatar and Bahrain.
