Duran Duran and Nile Rodgers announce huge 2025 UK outdoor shows

Duran Duran have announced details of two outdoor UK shows, which will see them joined by Nile Rodgers and Chic. Find the details below.

The first of the newly announced gigs that the iconic ‘80s band will play will be at Powderham Castle on July 3, as they take to the stage as headliners of the Powderham Presents concert series.

The latter will be held at the City Racecourse in Chelmsford two days later (July 5) as part of the Chelmsford City Live series.

Both shows will see Simon Le Bon and co. joined by Nile Rodgers and Chic, who will act as special guests for the gigs. Tickets go on sale this Friday (December 6) at 9am. Visit here to buy tickets, and check below for a list of new UK dates.

In other Duran Duran news, the band are set to play a handful shows in the US soon: these kick off with two nights at the Fontainebleau venue in Las Vegas on December 29 and 30, and continue on the New Year with two nights at the Yaamava Theater in Highland California on January 2 and 3. Visit here for US tickets.

The dates come after they dropped their Halloween-themed album ‘Danse Macabre’ last year –which saw them cover Billie Eilish, Talking Heads and more – and went on to share an expanded version over Halloween 2024

NME also caught up with Duran Duran last year, where they spoke about their eagerness to play Glastonbury Festival – a feat they have not yet crossed off.

Speaking to NME, Le Bon said: “I’d love to [do it] – we just need to get the right slot, that’s all. We have had the chance to do it before, but it wasn’t playing the main stage and I think we’d like to be doing that for sure. I’m sure we’re in negotiations [with Glastonbury], and if not, we will be.”

As for Nile Rodgers, the music legend recently confirmed, by accident, that he and Chic will be performing at Glastonbury 2025.

Reflecting on how Rod Stewart was announced for next year’s Legend Slot last week (November 26), Rodgers said at the Rolling Stone Awards that he was looking forward to taking to the stage afterwards.

“We’re going to have a blast because we follow him directly. Rod and I have been friends for 80 gazillion years, so that means he’s gonna play tricks on me,” he said. After being notified by someone that his performance hadn’t been announced, to which he laughed and responded: “Am I not supposed to give that away? I always say too much.”

Shortly before then, it was confirmed that he – along with Massive Attack and IDLES – will play a series of gigs at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena in honour of the city being the world’s first ‘UN Accelerator City’ for climate change.

It comes on the heels of Massive Attack’s Act 1.5 show in Bristol earlier this year, which aimed to re-envision how concerts could be staged sustainably, and was designed to be the lowest-carbon concert of its kind and scale ever put together.
