It appears that all is well between Drake and Bobbi Althoff. The podcast host and content creator went viral in 2023 when Drizzy appeared on her show, The Really Good Podcast, setting off a spree of other rapper interviews — including Lil Yachty, YG, and Offset — as well as often sexist speculation about how she was able to attain such high-profile guests. Althoff’s first interview with Drake was famously taken down a few weeks after going live, only adding fuel to online chatter about the 28-year-old podcaster. Both would go on to unfollow each other on Instagram, the universal sign that something had rifted between the two. Last week, Althoff shared a teaser for her new podcast, Not This Again, featuring the two looking like old friends reunited.
The interview is the latest move from Drake that suggests he’s far more interested in the world of YouTubers, streamers, and content creators than traditional journalists. It’s a shift that is likely a savvy read of the current generation’s viewing habits, though possibly more fodder for his detractors who say he doesn’t belong in hip-hop culture. Overall, it’s a pleasant enough watch. Here’s everything we learned from Drake’s appearance on Bobbi Althoff’s new podcast, Not This Again.
On Drake’s First Podcast Appearance With Althoff Being Taken Down
After a rather long preamble in which the two basically shoot the shit, goofing off about nothing, Althoff reins the conversation in. “Uh, let’s talk about us,” she asks. “Why you hated me.”
“I never hated you, Bobbi. I think that I took a lot of the weight and blame at that time when you needed to get a little active on somebody,” Drake replied. “It’s just like when you describe the after effects of something that we’ve done that I feel is a positive and is incredible. Sometimes I can’t see it from your perspective.”
After the initial episode of her podcast featuring Drake was released, Althoff shot into notoriety, booking high-profile guests each week. At the same time, her marriage to her husband, with whom she has two children, was unraveling, fueling even more fervent online speculation about the nature of her and Drake’s relationship.
Editor’s picks
“I think I let a lot of those comments influence me when that interview happened, to be like, ‘Oh maybe this was the end of my life.’ But actually it was single-handedly probably the best thing to ever happen to me and my kids,” Althoff said. “I read a quote, and this is the last serious thing I’ll say, but ‘two happy homes are better than one unhappy home.’ And I stand by that because my parents stayed together in an unhappy home until I was 16, and I was always like, ‘Get a divorce,’ right? And it’s like, why can’t people on the internet seem to understand?”
On Drake’s “Culture Vulture” Allegations
Speaking on his and Althoff’s falling out, Drake got a little vulnerable, revealing how people seeing him as self-serving touches a sore spot for him. “People will describe the collaborative efforts that I’ve put forth and the artists that I’ve picked up and lifted up or shined a light on as me taking,” he said. “They’ll put a negative spin on it and try to tell me that it’s a self-serving thing. And I think I get really sensitive about that.”
On Whether or Not Drake Will Ever Perform in L.A.
At one point in the interview, Althoff asks if Drake is “scared away from L.A.,” presumably referring to Kendrick Lamar’s war of words with him last year (and the ongoing lawsuit that followed).
“Am I scared away?” Drake responds, half jokingly. “No.”
Althoff presses Drake about touring in the U.S., since he’s spent much of the year doing shows overseas. “When all that happened, I just finished an American tour and so I got to do another one,” Drake says, referring to last year’s rap beef. “They don’t happen like every month you go on a new one, right? So, I’ll be back.”

On Drake Foregoing Traditional Media Interviews
Drake expressed a certain amount of pride about his and Althoff’s first interview from 2023.
“I think it changed a lot of things. It has changed a lot of things, like on TikTok. It changed a lot of things, like in the streaming world, it made people more comfortable to go sit down with somebody that they’ve never sat down with before,” he said. “Not to take like overly take credit, but when I do see somebody like a Nicki Minaj go to Kai Cenat’s house, or I see these musicians go to Plaqueboy Max’s studio and start making songs with him. I feel like we did usher in the idea that the goal is not to be some unattainable dickhead for your whole life, you know, and only sit with Zane Lowe while he asks you the most curated and formal questions. No disrespect to him, you know, but I think we did something that was special.”
On Drake Spending Nine Hours in Jail in Sweden
One particularly juicy tidbit of information came in the revelation that Drake was arrested once in Sweden, spending all of nine hours in jail. (The country’s prison system is known for offering the highest quality of life compared to any other country, for what it’s worth.) “I got arrested in Sweden,” Drake said. “I actually have a show coming up there. I feel like they’re gonna try and run it back.” After a slight back and forth between Althoff and Drake, he expands on the circumstances. “I got arrested for nothing. Well, we did a private party, and one of the guys, the officer, his girl came to the private party. But they arrested me way too aggressive and they arrested me for nothing.” Specifics about the ordeal remain scarce, though in 2022, online rumors swirled about Drake possibly being arrested for marijuana possession in Sweden.
On Drake Allegedly Having Fake Abs
The real hard-hitting news came towards the interview’s end, as Althoff pressed Drake on what everyone in America wants to know: “People think you got a procedure done. An ab one. Did you do that?” Althoff asks
“No,” Drake responds.
“You’ve never done that,” Althoff prods. “No,” he responds. “People also say that I got a BBL. They call me BBL Drizzy.”
Trending Stories
Drake concedes that he might know the reason why so many people speculated about his abs after an infamous Instagram post earlier this year, in which he appeared shirtless after a workout. “I think it was just like I came from the gym. I was sweaty in that pic,” he says. “I was like, maybe I heightened the saturation or something on it. I think I hit it too hard.”
Well, there you have it. An honest mistake.
