Drake Postpones Remaining Shows on Australia, New Zealand Tour

“We are actively working on rescheduling these dates along with adding some additional shows,” the rapper’s team confirmed

Drake has cut his current tour in Australia and New Zealand short. The rapper axed the final four performances on his Anita Max Win Tour due to a “scheduling conflict.”

“We are actively working on rescheduling these dates along with adding some additional shows,” a representative for Drake told Rolling Stone Australia in a statement. “All tickets for the affected shows will remain valid for the new dates. Refunds will be available for those who prefer, but please note that as these shows are sold out, any refunded tickets will be released for sale. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Drake and the entire team have had an incredible time doing these shows and are excited to return soon. We look forward to sharing the rescheduled dates with you as soon as possible.”

Drake’s tour kicked off on Feb. 4 with two nights in Perth before heading to Melbourne and Sydney for four concerts in each city. He had just wrapped two shows in Brisbane when the postponement was announced. Additional shows were scheduled to take place in Sydney and Brisbane next week and in Auckland in March.

The Australian tour has made headlines over the past few weeks as Drake has handed out cash to fans during the concerts. He gave $20,000 to a pair of fans in Perth, $45,000 to a few fans in Melbourne, and upgraded a pregnant fan to VIP in Sydney along with a $30,000 gift.

Earlier this month, Drake teamed up with PartyNextDoor for 21-track album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U. He told fans during one his Australian concerts, “It’s called $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, but it’s some turned up songs for you on there too. And there’s some personal feelings on there for you. So hopefully whoever you’re with on Valentine’s Day, hopefully y’all can share that experience together.” The LP debuted atop Billboard’s 200 albums chart this week, marking Drake’s 14th Number One album.
