Drake Hints at Buying Another Pharrell Chain Once Owned by Kid Cudi

It seems like Drake has added another Pharrell chain to his growing collection.

The Toronto rapper took to his moodboard slash burner account @plottttwistttttt recently and shared a picture of the producer’s N.E.R.D. brain pendant chain that was previously owned by Kid Cudi.

The chain, made by Jacob & Co., is 14k white gold, rose gold, and has a diamond pendant and matching chain commissioned by Pharrell in 2005 to celebrate the forming of his alternative rock band N.E.R.D with his close friends Shay Haley and Chad Hugo. It was originally purchased by Cudi during Pharrell’s inaugural personal auction entitled “Son of a Pharaoh” on the Virginia producer’s Joopiter auction platform for $720,000 back in 2022 and was once again put up for bidding during the Cleveland rapper’s own personal auction “On Another Planet.” According to Complex, the chain sold for $243,000, after it had an estimated price range of $80,000 – $120,000.

Drake also spent money during that first Joopiter auction, purchasing six items totaling close to $3 million that he then flaunted in his “Jumbotron Sh—t Poppin” music video in 2023. He also mentioned the jewelry later that year on Travis Scott‘s song “Meltdown” as he subbed both his arch nemesis Pusha T and Pharrell, rapping, “I melt down the chains that I bought from yo’ boss/Give a f—k about all of that heritage sh—t.” He then showcased the jewelry again in the video for “Family Matters” as his historic rap battle with Kendrick Lamar was starting to kick off.

However, Pharrell remained unfazed, telling GQ that the disses didn’t bother him.
