Donald Trump campaign releases t-shirt inspired by Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour

The Donald Trump campaign has released a t-shirt designed very similarly to Taylor Swift‘s ‘Eras’ tour merch.

It features a grid of photos of the former president coloured like the infamous ‘Eras Tour’ shirt and retails for $36 (£27).

Any ambiguity about the inspiration behind the design was removed when a tweet from the former president’s headquarters called on “all Swifties for Trump” to get their “Trump Era shirt today”.

The Republican candidate’s team announced the shirt, which reads “DONALD J. TRUMP MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” only days after the ‘Karma’ singer endorsed Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential race.

Earlier this week (September 10) following the first debate between Harris and Trump, Swift broke her silence on the elections, throwing her support behind the current Vice President.

In an Instagram post, she championed Kamala Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader”, writing that she believes “we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos”.

It has since been reported that her backing of Harris caused a “500 per cent” increase in voter registration, with nearly half a million registrants were directed from Swift’s Instagram page.

Her fans are now wondering if Swift will take legal action, as they have done previously when Trump falsely claimed her endorsement with a series of AI-generated posts. After that incident – which he addressed by saying: “Somebody else generated them” – fans warned that “Swift is gonna sue him so fast, he’ll remember why her last name is swift”.

Now, they’re leaving similar sentiments in the comments of the shirt post. “you dumbasses probably thought you were in the clear because the shirt falls under parody (which it does),” wrote user @AlexYoung. “But you left yourselves legally exposed by using her name in the text of the tweet. enjoy the lawsuit. and before you try to delete the tweet i took a screenshot.”

Another X/Twitter user under the post wrote: “I hope you get sued within an inch of your existence. He’s fixing to be in his unemployed little bitch era”. Check out more reactions below:

Stevie Nicks recently followed Swift’s lead in speaking out about the election. Describing Swift as her “friend”, the former Fleetwood Mac singer said: “Now is the time to research and choose the candidate that speaks to you and your beliefs.

“Only 54 days left until the election. Make sure you are registered to vote! Your vote in this election may be one of the most important things you ever do.”

Though Nicks stopped short of explicitly endorsing a candidate or party in her post, she did sign off in the same manner as Swift, writing: “Love, Stevie Nicks, Childless Dog Lady”, just as Swift called herself “Childless Cat Lady” in hers.

Elsewhere, Whoopi Goldberg also told vice presidential nominee JD Vance to “stop talking” after he described Taylor Swift as “fundamentally disconnected”.

NME has reached out to representatives of Swift for comment.
