Last night (September 28), Parton took to social media to announce that her Las Vegas residency – originally set for December – is now being pushed to 2026. She wrote on Instagram: “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”

Parton continued: “As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon! In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say.”

However, she went on to assure fans that she’s not planning on retiring yet: “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”

Parton went on to confirm that her new dates will take place in September 2026, and that all tickets that have already been purchased for December will be honoured for the September 2026 dates. Refunds will also be available, with more details being emailed to ticketholders.

Dolly Parton’s rescheduled 2026 Las Vegas residency dates are:

Back in March, Parton’s husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Thomas Dean, died at the age of 82. Following his passing, the country music legend  made her first public appearance since the death of her husband, and in June she said that she had put writing new songs “on hold” to cope with the loss.

In the weeks following Dean’s death, Parton said that she was “doing better than I thought I would”, and then released the poignant single ‘If You Hadn’t Been There’ in his honour – describing the significance he had in her life and his role in helping her become the person she is today.
