Doja Cat Is Teasing New Music, But Don’t Ask Where the Album Is

Doja Cat continued to dangle the prospect of a new album in front of fans, sharing a snippet of a new song and posting a possible track list on social media.

Over the weekend, Doja was on Instagram Live, where she previewed 30 seconds of a new tune titled “Jealous Type.” Over some glitzy, bustling pop production, Doja delivers a dexterous vocal performance as she sings, “Boy, let me know if this is careless/I could be torn between two roads that I just can’t decide/Which one is leading me to hell or paradise?/Baby, I can’t hurt you, sure/But I’m the jealous type.”

After a big fill from some Eighties-style drums, Doja picks up the verse with the lines, “He loves me/But he can’t hold this above me/When my eyes are green I’m ugly/You’re vain and hip to rushing.” (Doja confirmed the lyrics herself in a reply on X.)

“Jealous Type” was also one of 16 songs to appear on a possible track list Doja Cat shared on X early Sunday morning (April 13). The track list is far from confirmed, but it does include songs like “Lipstain,” “Kink,” “Make It Up,” “Couples Therapy,” “Amen, “One More Time,” “Acts of Service,” and “Turn the Lights On.”

Those hoping for more pertinent details — such as when these songs and this new album might arrive — will have to keep waiting patiently, however. “Dont ask me where crack is rn,” Doja wrote on X in the same post featuring the track list.

Earlier this year, Doja cat appeared to confirm that the title of her next album would be called Vie (the French word for “Life”) though that tweet has since been deleted. The LP will mark Doja’s first new LP in two years, following 2023’s Scarlet, which also received its own deluxe expanded edition, Scarlet 2 Claude, last year.

As she preps her new album, Doja Cat’s been busy with a variety of collaborations this year, including “N.H.I.E.” with 21 Savage, “Born Again” with Lisa and Raye, and “Just Us” with Jack Harlow.
