Doja Cat has dropped out of the line-up of Austin City Limits 2025 to focus on promotion for her upcoming album, ‘Vie’.

The singer-rapper was due to headline this year’s edition of the Texas festival in October alongside The Strokes, Sabrina Carpenter, Hozier and more, but has now told fans on Instagram that promotional duties for the new album mean she will no longer close out both weekends.
“I’ve been working on finalizing the album, making videos, taking the time to put together an album campaign that I am really excited about, and it’s become clear to me that I cannot give you guys the show you deserve within this time frame,” she said on Friday (August 29).
“Thank you to the ACL team for their support and I hope to see you all again soon when the time is right. I’m forever grateful for the opportunity.”

Shortly after Doja announced her departure, festival organisers announced that The Killers would be filling in for her at the main stage on October 5 and 12. You can find any remaining tickets to Austin City Limits here.
Back in April, the ‘Say So’ artist began teasing her new era, and since then has been steadily sharing snippets of the project, including the nostalgic pop tune ‘Jealous Type’. In a recent interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, Doja shared her experience working with former fun. member and Bleachers leader Jack Antonoff on ‘Vie’, saying “things fell together really naturally”.
She previously shared that the album will be more of a “pop-driven” version of her previous LP ‘Scarlet‘, and went on to explain how Antonoff had been instrumental in shaping that sound, saying: “He’s just been such a wonderful person to work with,” adding: “But yeah, I think it’s just been nice to play.”
‘Scarlet’ scored a three-star review from NME: “It all adds up to an overlong, slightly repetitive but ultimately compelling album of two halves… Still, by this stage, there’s no doubt that Doja has made her point – that she doesn’t owe us anything but to be herself.”
