Dog Gear With a Bite: Jonathan Davis Launches Edgy New Collection Via His Freak on a Leash Brand

Jonathan Davis is doing more than just throwing a dog a bone — he’s launching a new capsule collection for his Freak on a Leash pet line to help pooches everywhere be a little more rock n’ roll.

The Korn frontman announced on Tuesday (April 22) that he has teamed up with designer Ashton Michael — who has designed for Beyoncé, Post Malone and more music stars — for the collection that includes not only spiked collars, but also edgy fashions and fun toys.

“The joy and love I get from my dog is like no other. It’s a special bond we have,” the rocker says in a video that shows off some of the new line of products that includes black leather harnesses with D-rings that recall bondage gear, doggy vests featuring “Freak on a Leash” patches, as well as a plushie planchette toy and more. “To be able to make something to dress them up kind of like your own style — how I would want to dress my dog — and then giving back to dogs who don’t have homes … the whole umbrella of the company, it’s just something that makes me feel something warm in my dark little heart.”

The edgy collars and clothing are available now in sizes for all dogs, from XS to XL, with prices ranging from $15 to $95 on FreakOnALeash.com. A portion of the profits will benefit Pup Culture Rescue in Pasadena, Calif., with some of the non-profit’s adoptable dogs featured in the new Freak on a Leash video. In addition to helping save dogs, the rescue also works to educate about pet adoption and prevent dogs from being abandoned, which helps ease the pressure on local animal shelters.

Davis launched his pet brand in 2022, and named it after Korn’s 1999 hit “Freak on a Leash.” The song’s acoustic version featuring Amy Lee reached No. 89 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2007.
