Doechii Cancels Appearances at Three Music Festivals

The rapper was scheduled to play two festivals in the United Kingdom and another in France

Doechii won’t be performing at three music festivals she was scheduled to play at this weekend. On Monday, All Points East, Rock en Seine, and Forwards Festival announced that the rap star would no longer be performing, although no reason was given for the cancellations.

“Unfortunately, Doechii will no longer be able to perform at All Points East on Saturday, August 23rd,” High Points East wrote on its Instagram. “We’d like to apologise to any disappointed fans and hope to welcome Doechii to All Points East in the future.”

In its statement’s caption, the festival added that Doechii would “no longer be performing at her upcoming shows,” seemingly referring to her cancellations at France’s Rock en Seine on Aug. 21 and Bristol’s Forwards on Aug. 24.

A rep for Doechii did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.

The three festivals have yet to announce replacement performers ahead of the shows this weekend, although Forwards and All Points East alluded to the rest of their lineup in the caption. Forwards features “three amazing female headliners” with Jorja Smith, the Last Dinner Party, and Olivia Dean.

Doechii was most recently in Belgium for the Pukkelpop festival on Sunday, Aug. 17, and she played San Francisco’s Outside Lands and Chicago’s Lollapalooza earlier this month. She’s set to bring her Live From the Swamp tour to North America in October, and is scheduled for All Things Go fests in New York City and Columbia, Maryland in September.

“This project turned one and before I disappear to create the next world, I’m going back on tour,” the rap queen wrote on Instagram earlier this month, referring to her Alligator Bites Never Heal album. “The final chapter of this era. Thank you for the memories, the magic, the love — let’s close it out together.”
