Doechii and Lady Gaga Hit the ‘Runway’ in New Song for ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’

Every week is fashion week for Doechii and Lady Gaga. The artists have teamed up for “Runway,” a new collaboration that appears in the final trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2.

“Serve a little sass, with a little side of ass, do a little twirl,” Doechii instructs on the track, which doesn’t currently have an official release date. When Gaga jumps in, she drops a string of positive affirmations: “I’m feeling fab, I’m feeling free, I feel exceptionally.” At the close of the trailer, Doechii and Gaga both echo the same refrain, singing, “You were born for the runway.”

The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters on May 1. It will center around a changing magazine industry facing significant challenges, with Runway diminished compared to its former glory. The film reunites the cast of the original, including Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and more. It also features appearances from Simone Ashley, Caleb Hearon, Donatella Versace, and stars. Gaga was spotted on set in Milan in October, just one day after Donatella Versace was seen.

Gaga and Doechii have both married their love of music with their love of fashion, but they also share a mutual admiration of each other. “You don’t often see someone come out of the gate with a pen that feels immediately legendary,” Gaga told British Vogue last year. “That’s Doechii to me. I fell in love with her music and her raw, deeply personal perspective. The power in her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymes with this wild mix of audacity and emotional precision — it struck me to the core.”

In an interview with People, Doechii responded to the veteran pop star’s praise, saying, “I audibly gasped, literally. I’m the biggest Lady Gaga fan, and she is so dedicated to her creativity and pushing the limits, so for a legend like that to say that about me, it really, really validated me in a humbling way … I think when you meet Lady Gaga, she naturally has an essence about her. You just kind of listen, and you don’t even have to ask her for anything. I think she just pours herself naturally onto people.”
