DMX’s posthumous album teased with new single featuring Joyner Lucas

A posthumous album from DMX is on the way. Check out the new single featuring Joyner Lucas below.

The project comes four years after the death of the rapper – real name Earl Simmons. Set to arrive later this year, details around the project remain vague, although it is expected to be shared in the summer.

Called ‘DMX Features’, it will be a collection of the late artist’s never-before-heard collaborations, and will feature a stacked line-up of rappers on the tracklist.

One of the collaborations comes from Joyner Lucas, and is available today (May 30). Titled ‘Bring Out the Worst’, the song marks the first single to be shared from the project.

I’ve been doing this for too long, plus dog is too strong / Let you catch, fight me off the map with a new song,” DMX can be heard rapping in the track. “You can bring out the best, or bring out the worst / You gonna bring out the worst, we gonna bring out the hearse.”

Its arrival comes just days after the 27th anniversary of ‘It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot’, which was shared in 1998 and marked the classic debut album from the New York rapper.

The song is shared by DNA Music Group and Hitmaker Distro, and the verse was also featured in the song ‘Where My Dogs At’ – which featured in ‘The Weigh-In’ mixtape which was shared back in 2012.

An official tracklist and list of collaborators on ‘DMX Features’ has not been shared, although Rolling Stone has reported that the LP will feature guest appearances from the likes of Wiz Khalifa and Kevin Gates.

More details about the album are set to be shared shortly.

DMX died in April 2021 at the age of 50 due to a cocaine-induced heart attack. His last album arrived in May of that year and was called ‘Exodus’.

In other news about the late rapper, back in 2023 Jermaine Dupri shared a story about how DMX robbed a journalist using his dogs, and Rap icon Melle Mel said that both he and 2Pac were “better actors than rappers”.
