Dinah Jane Honors Her Polynesian Heritage With Debut EP ‘Juice County, Vol. 1’

Dinah Jane is honoring her promise of delivering “very tropical, naughty, island girl vibes” on her debut EP. On Friday, the former Fifth Harmony star released her eight-track project Juice County, Vol. 1.

The project includes previously released singles, including “Ocean Song,” “Road Less Traveled,” and “Let’s Go” with Young Go and JKING. She also included sexy R&B track “Tell Me” alongside Tone Stith, the island “Just Us Two,” and a reggae reimagining of “Road Less Traveled.”

“This is dedicated to all you toxic couples.. yes you! I’m talking to you,” Jane wrote on Instagram. “Ladies, you know how it be when we don’t mean what we say. We’re simply just hinting to em 🤭iykyk.. ooops catch on fellas!”

The EP’s title is named after her native Orange County, California as she told fans “it was only right to share my piece of home with y’all.”

“There was never pressure of trying to get a number one record on the agenda, the goal was to simply set a foundation by pouring back into me!” said Jane on Instagram “As you can hear, I’ve just been having fun in my writer and producer bag.”

“The process of securing this project as an independent artist wasn’t the easiest but God led me to this Road Less Traveled and I ain’t never looked back,” she wrote. “It’s the best thing I ever did for myself!”

The project hears the singer honor her Polynesian roots in her stylistic choices and tropical sonics she selected for the project. “I love that people can see my identity now more than ever before,” she told Rolling Stone at the time. “Whether it wins or not, I love it.”

Jane launched the Juice County era last August, when she released lead single “Ya Ya.” “I am 100 percent confident with what I’m creating, what I’m writing, how I’m singing. She’s giving range, and she’s telling a story,” she said. “I know that’s where my power is this time around.”
