Diana Ross to Perform Medley of Hits on ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’

Diana Ross has joined the all-star lineup of artists set to ring in 2026 as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest.

The legendary Supremes singer will take the stage moments before midnight and the ball drop at New York’s Times Square for her performance, which will feature a medley of her hits, including “I’m Coming Out” and “Upside Down.”

“Together we begin a new year. Let’s embrace a new beginning, new opportunities, new joy — a celebration of love, where we all come together as we begin 2026,” the 81-year-old Ross said in a statement.

Ross joins a lineup of nearly 40 artists set to perform on the December 31 special on ABC, a lineup that so far includes Chappell Roan, Post Malone, Mariah Carey, Maren Morris, Demi Lovato, 50 Cent, Lil Jon, Ciara, Pitbull, Charlie Puth, the singing voices of K-Pop Demon Hunters, Madison Beer, and many more.

Seacrest will co-host the New York proceedings with Rita Ora, while Chance the Rapper will host the Rockin’ Eve’s Chicago party; the rapper will also perform during the special. Rob Gronkowski and Julianne Hough will emcee the Las Vegas Rockin’ Eve party, while the hosts of the Puerto Rico event are to be determined.

New Kids on the Block, 4 Non Blondes, Zara Larsson, Goo Goo Dolls, Jess Glynne, Jessie Murph, Rick Springfield, Little Big Town, LE SSERAFIM, the All-American Rejects, AJR, and more will also perform across the Rockin’ Eve outposts.

Carey’s appearance at this year’s countdown marks her first Rockin’ Eve since 2017, when her performance went viral due to numerous on-stage mishaps, including a vocal track malfunction during her hit “Emotions.”

“I don’t even want to bring this up too much, but whatever, we’re obviously talking about it, the New Year’s Eve situation – that couldn’t be helped,” she told Rolling Stone shortly after. “I used to get upset by things. This was out of my control, and had everything not been such a total chaotic mess, then I would have been able to make something happen. Even the dancers should have stopped dancing and helped me off the fucking stage. I’m sorry. It was a mess, and I blame everybody, and I blame myself for not leaving after rehearsal.”
