Details Emerge About Long-Awaited ‘Intimate’ Kylie Minogue Three-Part Documentary, ‘KYLIE’

Netflix has finally revealed some details about its long-awaited Kylie Minogue documentary. In a release on Wednesday morning (April 22) the streamer described KYLIE as an “intimate” three-part project in which the beloved Australian singer “opens her personal archives and reflects on a life that continues to captivate, inspire, and soundtrack multiple generations.”

The three-parter will feature footage from Minogue’s home movies, as well as personal photographs and new interviews with the singer in a look behind the person behind such beloved Billboard Hot 100 hits as “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” (No. 7) “Love at First Sight” (No. 23), “I Should Be So Lucky” (No. 28) and her breakout 1988 classic “The Loco-Motion” (No. 3).

It examines how she’s “faced public scrutiny, personal loss, and illness with grit and grace, earning respect far beyond her own fandom,” reads a description. The project was directed by Emmy- and BAFTA Award-winner Michael Harte (Three Identical Strangers, BECKHAM) and produced by John Battsek’s Ventureland (WHAM!, The Deepest Breath). It will feature interviews with friends, family and collaborators, including sister singer/actress Dannii Minogue, fellow former Neighbours star actor Jason Donovan, singer Nick Cave and others. At press time no airdate has been announced for the documentary.

The project was first announced in 2024, but details on it have been scarce in the years since and a trailer has not yet officially been released. In addition to selling 80 million records worldwide and being Australia’s best-selling female artist of all-time, with 18 ARIA Awards (and two Grammy) on her shelf, Minogue has also been featured in more than a dozen films, including The Delinquents, Street Fighter, Moulin Rouge!, Kath & Kim, Holy Motors and The Residence. She has released 17 albums, beginning with her self-titled 1988 debut, and including 2023’s Tension and its 2024 sequel, Tension II.

Minogue was recently confirmed as the headliner for the 2026 AFL Grand Final Australian rules football championship at Melbourne’s MCG on Sept. 26, becoming the first Australian artist to headline the event since 2021.
