Demi Lovato reveals she is currently working on new music

Demi Lovato has revealed that she is currently in the studio and working on the creation of her new music.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter for a new feature, Lovato – who now uses she/her pronouns again along with they/them pronouns – opened up about what is next for them and shared that they are in the studio “making music and I am writing a ton and recording and having fun with that.”

The ‘Heart Attack’ singer’s last full-length release was 2023’s ‘Holy Fvck’. In a three-star review of the album, NME shared: “If ‘Holy Fvck’ is a funeral for Lovato’s pop music, it also marks a new beginning, with an artist reborn. As the musician explores this ferocious sonic world and celebrating her musical roots, it’s the start of a bold new era.”

Elsewhere in the chat, Lovato shared that at his stage in her life, she currently feels complete. “I am happy in my career making music, making this documentary but I am also fostering really meaningful connections in my life,” they said, adding: “Whether that’s with my family, My fiancée, my friends, I’m putting my well-being first and that in turn looks like completion. I feel like I am in a really great place in my life and I couldn’t be happier.”

Lovato also discussed the creation of the documentary Child Star – which marks her directorial debut. The documentary sees her about the challenges of childhood fame and host intimate conversations with other former child stars such as Drew Barrymore, Christina Ricci, JoJo Siwa and Kenan Thompson.

“With this project, I didn’t want this to be an exposé. I wanted it to be more of an informative experience for the viewer. Also, understanding legislation that is trying to be passed right now for future generations of children that are working online already and protecting and compensating them,” they shared.

They continued: “I wish that someone had made a film about child stardom that I could have watched before I entered the industry to really kind of sus out if that was something I wanted to do or not.

In other news, Lovato has previously shared that she may never tour again. Speaking again to The Hollywood Reporter, the musician spoke about the possibility of hitting the road to perform after last performing for large stretches in 2023. After the ‘Holy Fvck’ tour, she announced her intentions to retire from touring.

While the singer did not share a concrete answer if she’d tour again, she cited her health as a reason for being hesitant to the idea of a heavy schedule: “It takes a toll on your body, I’m not 15 anymore.”
