Demi Lovato Offers Update After Allergic Reaction & Reported Hospitalization

Demi Lovato is feeling “fine” after a reported brief hospitalization from an allergic reaction she had on Tuesday (Oct. 27).

According to People, the pop star posted a photo to her Instagram Story receiving medical treatment with an IV in her arm while wearing a hospital bracelet.

Lovato hypothesized that she developed a new allergy to either passionfruit or sushi. “Soooooo i’m either allergic to passionfruit or sushi now,” she wrote before deleting the post.

The 34-year-old reportedly made a follow-up post to quell the nerves of Lovatics around the globe as she’s recovering from the health scare. “I’m fine,” Lovato added in the also since-deleted post.

The “Sorry Not Sorry” has battled various allergies over the years. In 2009, she suffered an allergic reaction while filming an episode of Sonny With a Chance, which she believed was from an ingredient in an egg salad.

“I had to go home early because they couldn’t just cover me up with makeup since I was red and itchy,” Lovato said to Just Jared Jr. “I guess I was allergic to something in egg salad. But it was actually really funny and amusing.”

Lovato’s also been open about being badly allergic to pets like cats and dogs, but that didn’t stop the singer from adopting a feline, which she returned after one day.

On the music front, the Camp Rock alum released her dance-pop album It’s Not That Deep in October 2025, which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard 200.

Billboard has reached out to Demi Lovato’s reps for comment.
