Hip-hop collective Deltron 3030 — rapper Del the Funky Homosapien (a.k.a. Deltron Zero), producer Dan the Automator (the Cantankerous Captain Aptos), and turntablist Kid Koala (Skiznod the Boy Wonder) — are going on tour. The group are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their eponymous debut with a 16-date North American tour.
The tour, where they will perform their debut album in its entirety, starts July 18 in Vancouver and concludes at Webster Hall on Oct. 6. Presale starts on April 23 at 10 a.m. local time, while tickets are available to the general public beginning April 25.
The collective’s self-titled record is set in the year 3030, and features the trio melding together Del’s rhymes with Dan’s production and Kid Koala’s expert scratching. Their most recent studio album, Event II, was released in 2013, and they dropped a live album appropriately titled Live three years later.
Along with hitting the road, Deltron 3030 are working on a third album that’s been whispered about for years. In 2018, Dan revealed “there’s a couple songs that exist” for a new project, and hinted that Dr. Octagon — made up of Dan, Kool Keith, and QBert — could be on the project. The setting of Event II is the year 4010, so who knows what time period Deltron 3030 will be taking us to this time around.
