Cruz Beckham has launched his music career today (October 24) with two trippy debut singles called ‘Optics’ and ‘Lick The Toad’ – check them out below.
Cruz is now 20, but first launched his debut single when he was just 11 years old, sharing the festive track ‘If Every Day Was Christmas’. Earlier this year, it was revealed David and Victoria Beckham’s youngest son was making music and had enlisted the help of The Kooks’ Luke Pritchard. The singer is friends with Cruz and was revealed to be helping him out with his songwriting.
Reports of the him working with The Kooks’ Luke Pritchard earlier came earlier this year after The Sun first reported in 2024 that Cruz had signed a deal with a new music management firm and was looking to develop a “more guitar-led organic sound” compared to his debut single.
Speaking to The Sun about working with Cruz, Pritchard said back in March: “He has really good taste in music. We chat about early Bee Gees – there aren’t many people I can do that with. We started writing songs together and we’ve become mates. I’d just love to help him navigate [a career in music].”
Single ‘Optics’, which comes with an accompanying video, which sees Cruz playing guitar in the country – reportedly on his family’s estate – with three other musicians. The song is trippy, with Kasabian psychedelic-esque vibes.
The lyrics see Cruz explore everything from tripping on mushrooms to sex, with the musician singing: “Take a thousand selfies in your bed, while I trip in mine – I love me some mushrooms and good head and the erotic 69.”
‘Lick The Toad’ follows a similar style, but is more upbeat and sees Cruz encouraging everyone to shout ‘Lick The Toad’ at the start of the song. Both have been produced by Justin Raisen (who has worked with the likes of Charli XCX, Joji and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) & Lewis Pesacov.

Reactions to the song online are coming in. So far users have been enjoying the song, with one saying, “Cruz Beckham about to be the next big thing in British Indie music, calling it now,” while another added: “Cruz Beckham actually making good music was not on my bingo card lol.”
