Conor McGregor gets booed at Limp Bizkit’s Dublin show after Fred Durst shout-out

Conor McGregor was booed by Limp Bizkit fans during the nu metal band’s show at Dublin’s 3Arena last night (March 11).

In the run-up to the show, the mixed martial artist said in an Instagram post he would “be bang in the centre of the Moshpit if anyone’s looking for their jaw broke and their teeth sent.”

However, though frontman Fred Durst joked that they could “have a go at a slow dance” at the show, McGregor’s presence at the 3Arena wasn’t welcomed by the band’s fans.

“It sounds like you’re in love with Conor McGregor here…” the vocalist said, which was met with a loud chorus of boos. “I’ll be straight with you,” continued Durst, “from what I’ve heard, he’s actually out there right now…”

Footage of McGregor being booed circulated widely online, but fans there said that the footage didn’t do justice to just how loud the crowd’s disapproval of McGregor was.

“The boos were very loud in the arena,” one fan on Reddit said. “I can’t imagine his ego would have enjoyed being mocked, booed and laughed at. Fred knew what he was doing.”

“Fred mentioned him again a song or two later and he was booed again,” wrote another gig-goer. “One of the night’s highlights, for me.”

In November, McGregor was ordered to pay almost €250,000 (£208,000) in damages to Nikita Hand, who won her claim for damages in a civil court after accusing him of raping her. The alleged incident took place in a hotel in December 2018 but McGregor claimed in court that the encounter was fully consensual.

Limp Bizkit’s  ‘Loserville’ 2025 tour dates continue with shows at the BP Pulse LIVE arena in Birmingham, the AO Arena in Manchester and the Wembley Arena show in London on March 13, 15 and 16 respectively. Visit here for any remaining tickets.

The tour sees Fred Durst and co. supported by Bones, Ecca Vandal, N8NOFACE, Riff Raff and NME 100 alumni Karen Dió.

Before the tour kicked off, the band had played some ‘Loserville’ live shows overseas last year, and made headlines for breaking out ‘Clunk’ live for the first time in 14 years. They also got fans talking after joining Corey Feldman on stage following his guitar solo going viral, pulling a raucous crowd in Argentina and more.
